The line in the ether...

I was sitting here frustrated and feeling the need to verbalize my frustration. I realized that although I could technically broadcast to the world, I never would. The rise of blogging, social networks, and electronic media in general has allowed everyone to publish. However, just as the booms in print and broadcast media led to discussions of integrity, so must the expansion of this medium. These discussions have already taken place in our media and in our courts. I did not realize I had such a strong opinion on the subject.

The simple truth of the matter is that I will not vent outside of person-to-person communication. The reason for this has nothing to do with whom might read it. My "readership" is basically non-existent. The only individual likely to read these posts has listened to many an exposition.

The reason for this is propriety. Stored information has a life of its own. When something takes on a medium, it gains a permanence. Any correspondence that is infused with emotion should be non-fiction. I have no doubt that I could write a seemingly objective descriptions of the events, but as an active participant, it won't really be objective. Humans can't really be objective at all much less if they are vested.

And so, my posts will remain abstract and for the most part positive. After all, I'm me.
